Fishing Vessel

This sample illustrates how a scalable parametric model of a hard chine fishing vessel for designs ranging from about 20 to 60 m in length can be modeled.

Load Model

All principal dimensions depend on the design variable xPeak, the most forward point of the deck. Fishing vessels typically feature rake of keel, which can be varied in this model between 0 and 4 degrees. Further refinement of the vessel's shape can be done by either changing the relative definitions, e.g. default beam = 0.35 * xPeak or replacing the formulas by discrete values.
