Contra-Rotating Propeller
This sample model illustrates how a fully-parametric contra-rotating marine propeller can be modeled using the Advanced Propeller Workflow.
Load Model
A contra-rotating propeller (CRP) consists of two propellers arranged in series along the shaft line, rotating in opposite directions (one clockwise and the other counterclockwise).
One key advantage of contra-rotating propellers is the improved propulsion efficiency achieved by recovering rotational energy from the slipstream of the forward propeller.
In this example, a NACA 4-digit airfoil profile is used for both propellers.
