Conventional Propeller

This sample illustrates how a fully-parametric conventional marine propeller can be modeled using the Advanced Propeller Workflow.

Load Model

Conventional Propeller

This type of propeller is called conventional since it is a standard propeller model and uses some typical parameters in propeller design:

  • Nominal Pitch
  • Rake Angle
  • Skew Angle
  • Expanded Area Ratio (EAR)
  • Number of Blades (NOB)

Additionally, an option is available to set the rotation of the propeller to be either clockwise or counterclockwise. The NACA 66 a = 0.8 mod profile is used.

Below, the Radial Distributions of the baseline design for this propeller type are shown.
